Telecom providers started phasing out the 3G network in early 2020. If your provider no longer supports this network, our alarms have an automatic fallback to 2G. However, KPN's 2G network will also expire by April 2025. As a result, the lifespan of older type detectors is limited and they must be replaced in 5 years at the latest (possibly early) in order not to compromise safety in your highly critical processes.

It is becoming increasingly clear through the media that both the 2G and 3G networks will be discontinued for the foreseeable future. It varies by provider, but the end is in sight or even already reached.

This is also important for alarm systems now hanging in the field or being purchased new. Much of the hardware used in them is based on 2G and NOT suitable for 3G, 4G or 5G networks.

To date, these are the latest dates published by known providers:

Would you like to buy an alarm system now that includes a SIM card, please note that this must be a 4G system!
